Porto de Galinhas

We have been excited the whole trip to go to a city called Porto de Galinhas (Chicken's Port). The reason it got its name is because it used to be a port that slaves were shipped into, and they referred to the slaves as animals. It was an absolutely beautiful beach to say the least. When we arrived, we went on a short sail boat ride out to some natural tide pools. Out there, we fed some of the fish in the pools and went snorkeling off of the boat as well in a pool. Swimming with the fish while snorkeling was my favorite part of the sailboat ride.

Starting on our journey.

Arriving at our destination.

Feeding the fishies.

Some friends by the pools.

Wading in one of the pools.

Getting my snorkel on!

Snorkeling with friends.

When we arrived back to shore, we were convinced by one of the venders on the beach to go for a scuba dive adventure as well. So we got on another little sail boat which took us out into the ocean. Since we didn't take a class, the guide was with us the whole time throughout the tour. I really enjoyed the scuba as well, once  again we got to swim with some fish and see some cool reefs and caverns. The guide took some pictures of us underwater, so we got a cd with all of those which were pretty neat.

On our way to the adventure.

Hello fishy!

Nick and I breathing underwater.

The very first underwater Nemo with actual Nemos swimming around me.
